Today, Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo met with German Vice Chancellor and Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Change Robert Habeck and French Minister of Economy, Finance, and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty Bruno Le Maire to reinforce the United States’ commitment to the transatlantic economic partnership. The three discussed the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), and Secretary Raimondo noted that the IRA is a key tool for the United States and is the most significant U.S. climate legislation to date.

The Secretary, Vice Chancellor and Minister also discussed the importance of the U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC) to transatlantic ties. She also commented on the strong U.S.-EU collaboration and progress made through the TTC on semiconductor supply chains, specifically noting two administrative arrangements on semiconductors to promote transparency on incentives to the private sector and to exchange information on potential disruptions of shared concern in the semiconductor supply chain.
