Laura Rackner was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She received her Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1984 and her Bachelor of Science in 1979, both from the University of Oregon. Prior to entering private practice in 1992, Laura served as Deputy District Attorney in the Marion County District Attorney’s Office; as Assistant Attorney General in the Oregon Department of Justice; and on the staff of the U.S. Department of Justice, the Office of Chief Counsel, and the Drug Enforcement Administration in Washington, D.C. She has since served as Director of the Oregon State Bar Professional Liability Fund.
