Raimondo will meet with IPEF partners to advance progress on Pillars II, III, and IV – the Supply Chain, Clean Economy, and Fair Economy pillars – and to kick-off the Inaugural Clean Economy Investor Forum with 22 U.S. companies, driving sustainable infrastructure & clean technology investments in the region.

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo will travel to Singapore from June 3 to June 6 to participate in the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF)’s Ministerial meeting. Raimondo will also lead 22 American companies to the inaugural IPEF Clean Economy Investor Forum to accelerate sustainable infrastructure and climate technology investments in the region.

The IPEF Ministerial meeting will be the first in-person convening of Ministers since the substantial conclusion of negotiations for the Clean Economy Agreement and the Fair Economy Agreement, and the signing of the supply chain agreement, last November, and the virtual Ministerial meeting that took place in March. The purpose of the meeting is for Ministers to take stock of the progress to date under the three agreements and outline a series of next steps to take the work forward under each of the agreements.

The IPEF Clean Economy Investor Forum will convene a diverse set of stakeholders from across the United States and the Indo-Pacific region to gain market insights, make industry and government contacts, solidify business strategies, and identify funding opportunities, in furtherance of the goals of the proposed Clean Economy Agreement. The IPEF Clean Economy Agreement aims to help partners meet their climate objectives by improving market conditions through a variety of tools, including coordinated policies, interoperable frameworks, and more streamlined processes. This will further attract investment to climate-related infrastructure, technologies, and projects in the region, as well promote the sharing of expertise and good practices on scaling up clean investments.

In Singapore, the Secretary will also participate in bilateral meetings with IPEF partner nations, engage with industry leaders, and address issues of shared concern, including sustainable growth, climate objectives, and advanced technology.
